Hi
I have a Massey Ferguson 35 Deluxe with the gas Z134 engine.
I just got it and checked the engine oil and it is about 3/4 Quart low.
oil seems very clean.
My Manual says to use sae 30 for uses above 90 degrees and that is the temps I will mainly use the tractor.
Just Curious whether I Can use a Regular 10w30 or 10w40 that is Detergent or if I need to find the Sae 30 wt Non detergent ??

When i took the gas cap off I saw that there was a lot of corrosion on the cap so I am going to change the cap.
Should i get a vented cap or a non vented cap or does it even matter??

I am going to replace the radiator cap as well.
Which Kind of radiator cap is recommended??

This is my first Tractor and I really appreciate the help.

I think most people use 15-40 Rotella oil or comparable in their tractors. It will be fine in yours. Oil has came a long way since that tractor was made.

The radiator will likely be a lower pressure than one for a car, cars are generally in the 15-16 psi, tractor lower (mine called for a 7 psi)

This site "YT" has the Cap listed in their parts section:

I use shell rotella 15w40 in my old fergy,
good oil pressure and it runs smooth using that oil, that diesel oil still has some zinc which the oils back in the day had

I do believe it is a 7 psi radiator cap and yes that is very important as you can build up too much pressure on an old radiator and blow a hole in it, pressure will fine the weakest length.

I only run non ethonal gas in my old tractor, you may not be able to still buy that fuel in your area,
clean any and all fuel filters that you have, and use only clean fuel transfer tanks as you can get water and debris inside the fuel tank, then on to carb and then you have problems.
never use someone else's old gas transfer tanks.

probably the gear, differential hydraulic oil needs to be changed.
