MF205 front pto shaft for lifter hyd pump removal

My MF205 has a worn spline in shaft to the lifter hyd pump.
Shaft ends jo in a plate that is attached at the Main fan belt wheel by 3 bolts.

Replacing shaft i recon there should be a spline connection from shaft in the plate bolted to fan belt wheel.

But will not come apart.

Any tips how to remove shaft and plate.

Thx

It is threaded into the plate on the motor with a left hand thread. Sometimes they are a bugger to break loose. If I remember right you can use a 12 point socket over the spline. Can't remember the size but think it is around 3/4 or 7/8.

Thanks Phil

will try this, can't remember it having 12 point pattern in outside dia, but will investigate once more..

Yep, I just did this over the winter. Shaft is indeed left hand thread. I used a pipe wrench to get the shaft out, it was being replaced anyway. I had to use a chain wrench on the crank pulley to stop the tractor from walking when I went to get mine out. A bit of heat helps, but don't make it glow.

Replace the three bushings in the crank snout adapter. Use a bit of loctite on re-assembly so they don't back out and snag the front of the machine and cause you more headaches.
