Looking at a MF 135 with gas engine. Any suggestions on what to look for? Any problems with the gas engine? Thanks

from my experience most like the 4 cylinder engine best,
it sure sounds better, smoother running,

my neighbor had one with the 3 cylinder and he had a lot of trouble with it, sold it

I have a 3 cylinder 135 now for 6 years. Best tractor I own. Plenty of power. Use it almost every day. Never gives me a problem. It's my go to machine when it just must get done.

The Continental 4 cylinder is a decent little engine, some say it runs better than the Perkins 3.152 gas engine. The Continental blocks tend to crack easy, usually between the sleeves if it gets overheated, it's pretty thin cast iron between the sleeves. I've never seen a Perkins 3.152 gas in person running so I don't know if its better, or not than the Continental. The 3.152 gas engine is a lot stronger engine, its a diesel 3.152 converted to run on gas (different pistons, cylinder head), but everything else like the block, crankshaft, connecting rods, camshaft, lifters, rocker arms, etc is the same parts as the diesel.
