235 with cracked block

My 235 has cracks between each cylinder in the block. I don't think it is worth repairing the block. So my question is what all engines will fit in her and if I am replacing how big can I go? Thanks!

It is a very common problem, however don't rule out a repair.

Best bet is to find sombody who can cold stitch cast iorn cracking. It's a lost art but when done properly they are great for many years.

Let me know if your near MA and I'll send you the info of the guy I use.

The last one I had him do over 12 years ago and the tractor gets used every day and has not had a problem since. Not as expensive as a transplant engine either.

Good luck

Thanks, repair is an option, but if I'm going to go that far, then I would go ahead and overhaul it as well. The old tractor really isn't worth that much work (or money). No sentimental value, I have seen them for around $2-$3K, that is why I thought I might get a transplant for her.
