Massey Ferguson 396 2 wd loader tractor review

I'm looking at a 1995 MF 396 2wd cab tractor with front end loader. It has 1200 hrs and looks in excellent shape inside and outside with no leaks and great tires. I have mostly John Deere and International tractors on my ranch but need an extra front end loader tractor to load round bales for customers and maybe be a dedicated tractor for my Kuhn 9.5ft disc mower. Price is around 20K and seems a good bang for the bucks. I would prefer something Green with a powershift but I've heard good things about the Perkins engine but not so great things about MF's transmissions. Cab and A/C is an extra benefit. I don't need FWD for this loader tractor. Anyone got any experience or recommendations on this MF model? Thanks. Joe

Don't have a 396 but have a 399 with mfwd and a loader, ours has the 12x12 shuttle trans, seems to work wonderful. They are a simple made tractor and easy to use.
