Generator issue

Have a 1964 massy furgason 165 Perkins diesel. Problem is generator is not keeping battery charged. I jump it off with rum it for hours. But when I cut it off. Will not even turn over again.. had the generator rebuilt an battery is not even a year old. Relplaced the voltage regulator also. Any help with this issue would be great.

I'd make sure all connections are bright and shiny, and I would make sure the battery was grounded right directly over to the starter mount bolt, if possible. Made all the difference on my Farmalls, ALL the difference.

Also make sure your regulator has a good ground.

Does regulator or generator get hot when shut down? Your cutout relay points in the regulator may be sticking closed allowing battery to discharge
