Hi, I am posting this for a friend that has a 1966-67 MF 135 gas with Continental Z-145 engine.
Last winter he had the engine rebuilt by a mechanic and the mechanic replaced the generator by an alternator.
This spring he noticed the tachometer was not working and he found the drive end of the tachometer cable was just tied up to the side of the engine but he could not find where it connects to. My experience is only with the Perkins 3 cyl Diesels.
But I remember seeing a gas MF 135 and I seemed to recall the tach cable connected to the rear of the generator.
Is my memory correct and when the mechanic installed an alternator there is no where to connect the tach cable now?
Can someone please assist me with the tach cable connection? If it went on the generator is there a solution for an alternator?
Thanks
JimB
