Im not getting spark to my spark plugs. Iv replaced the cap and roter, plugs and wires, condenser, points and ignition resistor. i have power on the coil posts when the key is on and also the moving point that tics back n forth in the distributor. Iv only used a test light to check for power. wondering what i should do next. I dont want to spend anymore money replacing stuff thats not the problem.

With switch on, you should have near battery voltage (test light on) at wire between coil and side of distributor with points open, zero voltage (light off with points closed).

Points may have an invisible glaze or film on them. Take the flap of your condenser or points box and rub it between points with points closed.

I have said it time and time again ALWAYS trouble then parts NEVER EVER the other way around or you cause more problem then you will ever fix.
#1 if the points are closed you should see little or no voltage on either post of the coil if your test light light up with the points closed you have to clean the points. If you got your points at TSC or other such place good chance the points are bad from the get go. Try these things
#1 remove the cap rotor dist cover so you can see the points. Make sure they are set as the y should be. Then with the points close turn on the ignition and carefully open and close the points by hand. When you do that you should both see and hear a spark. No spark means the point nee to be cleaned due to having a protective coating on them

Put a test light on the coil terminal that goes to the distributor, if it does not pulse when you crank the engine, there is issue with points.
