135 axle pivot lubrication

cleaning up my mf 135 3cyl diesel with swept axles; noticed there is some forward and backward movement in the axle pivot bush,(where the crank handle hole is) about 5mm, is this a worry and where is the lubrication point if any? any help appreciated thanks

Hi, maybe just a typo from Richard. This axle was only designed to have one pivot bush fitted. You can fit two bushes but you will find that the axle will not pivot freely due the the geometry being changed. Likewise if there is significant wear in the existing bush and pin this will also change the geometry.
Re lubrication; The idea was to keep it dry so that it did not attract grit and dust to wear the assembly away. My own preference is to apply a small amount of grease between the bush and pin to provide a little lubrication and then wipe away any excess.

Other tractors I have owned AC had grease zerts for this bearing or bushing,

Ferguson does not, when I installed my new bushing I just gave it a shot of spray graphite from time to time, no noise and graphite will not attract dirt, so far so good, do not want that bushing to wear out again my life time,
1957 TO 35 drives fine
