Mf175 ipto issue

I am lost on this one guys. I have a mf 175 with ipto and multipower. The multipower snaps right in and works great the pto can be stopped with a 2x4. So far I have replaced all the discs in the ipto clutch and put a new aux pump in and nothing has changed I have an it manual and friends with Massey knowledge but neither have helped with this issue. I got the tractor from a farmer that sold it when the pto quit. I put a 1000 psi guage in the test port of the left side cover and get no pressure before or after the new pump assuming the guage is correct. I've split the tractor twice now and both time cleaned out the belly and pick up screens for both pumps the seconds time was just because I was in there it didn't really need it and put new oil in. Nothing changes with the pto in fact it has gotten worse before i started all this it would spin my 7' mower just not fast enough to mow, now it won't spin it at all. What else can I check, clean, or fix. Is there a regulator on these systems or valve that could be bad? I did run it with the top cover off and nothing seems to be broken any input would be appreciated thanks guys!

Something does not make sense, auxiliary pump low side outlet port feeds both MP shift valve and IPTO shift valve together. If there's a huge leak somewhere both should not work. Has the IPTO shift valve been checked for spool valve trouble? Gauge at test port may not be working, cause if it is the MP should not work either with no pressure at the port. The pressure control spool for the low side is in the MP shift valve spool block, it seldom causes trouble.

The only thing I did to that valve is replace the 2 rings it rides on at the pto clutch. So I guess it's split it again. I'm not sure if it matters but just out of curiosity the other day I was driving around my yard and put the pto in and tried to put the multipower in at the same time and it didn't work, it was very weak you could feel/hear a small difference.

Hi,
I would agree with Dieseltech in that this is very strange as essentially the MP and IPTO are on the same circuit. If there was a leak then neither should work at least fully. can you be sure that the aux pump is receiving enough oil. When testing it where is the oil level? If it is barely covering the filter then it will have to work harder to pull the oil up as opposed to when the system is full. I do not have an illustration of the 175 with IPTO only the later 165 upwards etc. Does your system have a pressure maintaining valve? This is the hexagon body in the line at the left hand side of the engine roughly above the starter motor. It might be worth checking that to ensure that it is working correctly. My thought is that your problem is lack of oil supply. You should be showing pressure at the side cover test point.
Let us know how you progress.

The US models I've seen all have a test port at the starter on late 165, 175, and 180 tractors, but no valve in that area. Dad's 180 once lost all auxiliary hydraulics along with MP and IPTO when the left side cover oil return elbow inside popped out of place, allowing air to enter instead of return oil..

Thanks guys. So to answer your questions I do have a test port in the lines going to the cooler no valve though and as far as the oil level it's a hair above the full line on the dipstick I'm using legacy ISO 68 I got from the dealer. I wanted to run this by you guys to see what you thought. I work at a shop that does hydraulic systems on dump trucks and semis so I brought this up there, and the common consensus is that I'm loosing pressure somewhere somehow. My boss loves Massey tractors and is in the process of collecting the whole 100 series and he suggested for me to looking into the(what he called) regulating valve into the bell housing for the MP. He said his 1080 had an issue similar and that his diagnosis came down to that valve not working properly. So my question is could that have gotten dirt and debris in it and be stuck half open giving the MP enough pressure to function but dumping the rest into the trans? I'm trying to research the whole system but not sure the "Massey" names for some parts like that valve so hitting walls. Thanks again for the input and fast responses guys!

Sorry for the long delay guys but we have finally solved the problem here. The front side of the pto clutch where the shaft goes in, the brass bushing somehow worked its way out so the oil passage was not sealed I'm going to try to post a picture of what I'm talking about but I guess had I known what I was looking at I would have saved a lot of money and sleepless nights. Thanks again for all your help guys!
