wheel bearing grease

Can I use Mobilgrease XHP 222 lithium to pack the front wheel bearings, or do I need to get long fibre wheelbearing grease?

In general lithium tends to be to light wieght although some guys will use anyway. I tried it once and it was a short time later it started squeeking. Your milleage may vary.

The lithium in grease is only a thickener. For wheel bearings you will want a grease with a lithium complex thickener.

That grease would be good for about any serviceable wheel bearing among many other things. Now for a tractor that might see 5-10mph at times, I think just about any type of thick/sticky grease would work.
