MF 135 different hood styles

Question: I've noticed the different hood styles of the 135 tractors, some have a hood that hinges on the side, and tips the whole hood over for access, some have smaller access panels, 1 for battery compartment and 1 further ahead on the hood. Was this a difference between UK and USA versions? Or is it a model vintage-related thing?

I'm not an expert, but I believe all US versions had a full hood with RH hinge for the Perkins engines and LF hinge for the others.

I've only noticed the battery doors on the UK versions. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I wish they would have put the UK style hoods on the US 135's.

I think its one of those interesting anomalies. The tractor is the 'same' but different. Can't see any benefit for
having the US side-hinged bonnet. I believe that the front of the bonnet (yes, using bonnet here not 'hood') was
removable and made from glass-fibre. There is not a lot that can be done to the engine without the removal of the
bonnet. One factor that may have changed things was the US tractors having the '135' medallion at the rear whereas
the UK ones had it at the front. Wondering if the side-hinge is a throwback to the 65 and MF research indicated that
US farmers preferred to have a bonnet to lift for refuelling instead of just a small panel.
