Installed new COUPLING between AFT out put shaft of Transmission and splined input shaft of diff. Pinion, new Internal HYD.PUMP, new Transfer Diesel Fuel Pump, all new gaskets, filled system with 15-40 OIL.

Had to split Tractor at TRANS./DIFF. Joint due to ongoing OIL Leak:

Spent several hrs.. slashing and all operated fine:

Thanks to "YT" parts supplier...:)

I must look around for a 60>72" Mower:

Hi Bob, nice tractor. I learned to drive on a MF 35, looking like yours, started 10 years old.

Do you live in the US ?

Bill

Hi Bill:

Small world....the day my Parents purchased this little beast new, I turned 10 years of age.

Since a Total (Less Main fuel Pump) Engine overhaul in 1985/84? the little beast has run <200 Hrs.

My wife and I live in North Western Alberta Canada,(close to Dawson Creek B.C.) and are very fortunate that the USA allows us the privilege to live in Arizona in the Canadian Winter months.

Bob...

Nice. I am from northern part of Norway, but have a wife from northern California, and here is where we live now. I must admit I miss the snow and winter a lot. And I have all my tractors back in Norway, and here I can't have any tractor at all.

That tractor, is it a UK version since you are from Canada ?

Bill

I run a 84" mower behind my 135, if I get into real thick stuff like you are mowing I move over, and only use something like 72" of the 84". If you are in light, and or short stuff you can use the whole 84".

Yes Bill.. This little Power house was shipped to Canada from Coventry England:

My parents purchased this FE 35 X New in 1963 S# SNMY32O137:

Rear Tires are Loaded with Calcium Chloride, as well, it has a Differential Lock:

Yes, my FE 35 X is not pretty.....but she runs like she's brand new!

The front bumper has seen a lot of use....this tractor has pulled many, many moose Kills for the local neighbours and my Late Uncle. In the 1960's probably 100+.

I'm familiar with Redding California:

Bob........

Bob, I have heard about Redding... and well, it seems to be enough. lol.. I live south of Redding, and more towards the coast, along Hwy 101, (Santa Rosa). It't been fricking hot here 2-3 days, and suppposed to be in the 90ties until Friday next week. I am not made for this heat, so it is indoor weather for my wife and me. Was 101 today.

I like those old Fergusons and Massey Fergusons, have 2 FE/MF 35 myself and a MF 65. And TE 20 series. Perfect size too, very little soil compaction, is that what you call it ?

Bill

(quoted from post at 05:44:02 06/18/17) Good pics. Got 2 fe petrols here in ga. Are the diesel versions 23c's?

I believe both the 23C and the Perkins 3 cyl was sent over to Canada and the US. I think Massey Ferguson bought the Perkins factory around the summer of 1959. It is at least in 1959, and after that phased out the 23C, but some were still made in England in 1960 before it ended.

Bob's tractor in the picture is a Perkins, you can easily see that on the exhaust coming up on the left side. The 23C had it on the right side.

So you were able to get parts from YT?
What i know about the lush grasses where you are... i would keep what you have there in good clean- kinda sharp? condition, and just keep going slow and steady. I can see how wet and clumped it is already, i think your 35 got its hands full, and you can keep your pockets full. It looks like a 5 foot already? looks bigger than 4 foot? My 1959 35 diesel is a 23c, i wish it was a Perkins... but when i bought it, all i wanted was the arsend.
100 moose? too bad no one made notches on the fender or something...

Good morning Tony...

I have a brother in-law who spends several months of the Canadian winter in Arizona as I do........had HYD.PUMP, "YT" part sent to his address. When he traveled back to Canada last month the PUMP came North with him. Say,I married his Sister, he better bring my parts North! I had 99% of the "YT" parts sent to my AZ address when I was there.I left no knowing the condition of the pump.

Yes all "YT" supplied parts fit and worked as per required.

From 1930>1996 my Uncle probably supplied all MEAT (MOOSE) to the farming Neighbours. He was the go to Guy.

Bob.. Sunny, beautiful day today..:)

Hi Bill, the 3-cylinder engine was introduced in the UK at the beginning of 1959 with the last of the FE23Cs being made
in late '58. 1959 3-cylinder engines can be identified by the flexible injector drain pipe (if not changed) linking the
injectors. 1960-on 3-cyl tractors had a steel link pipe.

Hi David,

I am sorry if I stirred up some emotions about first and last of the MF 35, it was not my intention. I value our friendly tone more than being right or wrong in this matter so I am not going to comment on it any further.

(quoted from post at 02:12:13 06/18/17) Thanks "ptfarmer "............a wider Mower is on my list:

Bob..

I have just the mower for sale....a Befco C50 RD7, which is a 7' mower. Problem is, I am in SW Ontario, and looks like you are in AB :(

Lower Picture, after I finished it, and getting ready to rake hay.

Wow good work! You went to 14.9x24 rears, and what is on the front? Looks really good.

It's not pretty when you look close up to it, it bolts to the bottom of the front axle support. It's there to protect the future front mount hydraulic pump. I'll snap a couple of pictures of it, and post them up this weekend.

I'm curious about your steering wheel swap as well....what did you put on there? I like that, gives you a more comfortable operating position, and more knee room when getting on and off the tractor!

John Deer D,

You mean moose like this?

Do you do any hunting yourself or only haul out moose for your neighbors?

I'm looking to go back out to Alberta for a hunt but I don't know anyone now that lives there and hunts. Alberta regs require a hunters host. I was out in 2005 near Edson and Nojack. Shot a nice grey wolf.

Deer hunting here in New Brunswick is not that good. I love hunting. Went to Sask 3 times but getting tags now is nearly impossible.

The steering wheel is off a 1964 Ford Falcon, I bored the center out, machined the tapered/key way center from a old 135 steering wheel, the pressed the center into the Falcon steering wheel. Since I put a different steering box on it here recently from a MF 235 that has a taller column I used the 235 steering wheel.

Some pictures made into a youtube slide show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92v59R5AyqI of my front bumper, the front axle, and the front axle support are from a MF 2135 industrial tractor. The industrial front axle support is made for a aux hydraulic pump to bolted right to it.
