Perkins AD 3-152 Valve Adjustment

Which end is valve #1? Fan side or Driver Seat side?

I'm reading 2 different things.

Almost always the first cylinder is in the fan end of the engine, so for the Perkins 3 cylinder engine too. So, 1 valve is in the fan end.

There are exceptions on this planet, I think I have heard about some french engine where they started to count the cylinders and valves in the back of the engine, I mean where the eat engine, but that I think is on a car.

# 1 is next to the radiator, all rockers set .010 inch hot..

Hi Bill, yes, you are correct. Some Peugeots are numbered from the gearbox end of the engine. Got caught once with a
206. Diagnostic equipment said that number two injector was faulty so replaced number two from the fan/water pump end.
No difference. Researched it and found reverse numbering. Problem sorted. Thank god that Perkins have a little more
sense!
