MH 44 standard

I've had a 44 standard taking up space in the shed now for a few years. Has old repaint that is poor, needs fuel tank cleaned, carb rebuilt and has poor tires. Had it running a few years ago and was having an issue with the clutch not fully disengaging. I need to make room in the shed and have been debating on fixing up the fuel system and getting it running again and checking into the clutch issue. My question is what would be the going price on it after the fuel system and clutch fixed? Or am I better off just selling as is and not putting the time and money into fixing it?

Non running, but some usable parts.....scrap value plus 25%
Running poor but moves......scrap plus 50 %
Runs and moves well, but needs cosmetics...twice scrap value.
Restored, painted, new tires....maybe $1500.
Sad to say, but probably worth more to part it out. Ben

That's what I was thinking 1500 would be a push in good condition. I'll either drag it to the local auction and see what I get or part it out if I cant get close to 800 as is.

It's sad but it is hard to find interest for the old Massey Harris tractors these days. Being a standard gives it a little more value, parts for these don't move very fast at all, so better to sell it one piece if you can. Do some advertising, good luck.

Has the value gone down on 44's? Around here any non running 44 would bring at least $1000-1200. Three years a go I watched a 44 row crop with the engine removed and disasemblied sell for $1500. The engine was on two pallets.

I'm going to guess that these tractors would be parted out, because new sleeves and pistons are approximately $400.......for each jug.
