What Massey Ferguson Tractor do I have?

What Massey Ferguson Tractor do I have?

This seems to be a popular question for this tractor. I've spent several hours googling, and looking at tractordata.com but I feel like I don't have a solid answer to what tractor I have.

This is what I know:

MF34 Loader
MF 52 Backhoe
Perkins Diesel AD 3-152

The serial number to the left and under the steering wheel reads 9A 40502 or 9A 14052 with a date range of 1955-1969 which kinda makes me think its a 1969 model.

Anyone with any help would be awesome. I'm just trying to get this straight so I can start ordering some parts for it.

Go onto 'tractordata.com', and see what models took that engine. MY MF30 has a 212 gasoline, yours could be an MF40? 2165 or whatever they made that might be larger?

According to the serial number chart on the left of this page
it looks like you have a MF135, 1968 It could be a 135,150,165,175,180
starting serial no. for 1968 is 9A39836 up to 63156
could be a good tractor

My mistake, i thought i read your engine was the bigger 4, yeah a Perkins 3 is in a ton of masses. But a another number, on the air filter cover? under a coat of paint? I had the same problem with mine, was it a 165? 2165? That particular engine made it an MF30. The company didn't make it easy for us.

The MF40 industrial tractor came with the MF34 loader, the MF52 backhoe, and the Perkins AD3.152.
There is no 9A 40502 serial number, the 9A 14052 serial number would make it a 1972 year model.
The transmission would either be a 6 speed manual shuttle shift (clutch).
Or a 4 speed forward/reverse (torque convertor) instant reverse.
Or a regular 6 forward, and 2 reverse (clutch).

I'm not sure if the transmission is a 6 speed or anything. It has a 1st and 2nd, Low and High. And not sure of a bar thing coming from the rear that's on my right behind me that goes to the rear.

I would call this a 1968 MF30. #40502 is mid '68. Serial number, engine are in the range.
When on tractor data, you have to click on 'industrial models' too. If you are ordering parts, this should keep em happy. Nice looking rig. I love that kinda loader.
