Fuel System Part Needed - MF165 Gas.

First timer on this MF forum but need a little help in finding some parts. Trying to get dad's 1966 MF 165 Gas w/Continental engine running again after setting for a few years since his passing in 2010. It starts easily and runs for about a minute and dies from what appears to be fuel starvation. I have removed the strainer assembly and have given it a good cleaning after draining all the existing fuel from the fuel tank. Have a strong flow through the strainer but it appears very little if any is getting to the carburetor. I removed a plug on the bottom of the carb bowl to check flow there and fuel is not flowing through the carb. Want to remove the fuel line at the carb but the nut at the carb is rounded off and not possible to remove with a wrench. I am in need of a different useable fuel line between the strainer and carb which I believe to be p/n 505628M2 for the gas Continental model. Tried my usual sources like the Parts Depot (nothing there) so am looking at the salvage tractor route presently but don't know who that might be. Would anyone have a parts tractor MF 165 with a good useable steel fuel line for sale? Not familiar with part sources for MF tractors other then the dealership network so really don't know where to even try and locate one. Any help or suggestions anyone would provide or suggest will be most appreciated to resolve this fuel issue, Hal.

Remove the carb with the fuel line attached from the tractor. Then remove the elbow from carb that attaches the fuel line. Then you should be able to file the nut to accept the correct size line wrench. If that doesn't work, replace with steel brake line and fittings.

Thanks for the response and I removed the existing fuel line along with the carb and got the old line off with a pair of vise grips. I then fabricated a new fuel line from steel brake line which fit and works perfectly from the one I removed from the tractor. I plan on making an offset flare nut wrench to remove the new line if ever needed in the future and keep in the tractor tool box as clearance around the carburetor connection area is at a minimum, Hal.

Thanks for your response and that is what I ended up doing using 1/4" steel brake line and making a new tube. See reply above to Jo Bird for more info, Hal.
