starter solenoid

I needed to replace my starter solenoid , I have a lucas 3 terminal solenoid they sent me a 4 terminal can i make the new one work or am i gonna need to get another 3 terminal?

As far as I know you can use it, just one terminal will be left disconnected. Some have a terminal which would go to bypass the ballast resistor on certain vehicles/tractors which need them to give the ignition an extra bit of juice when starting.
