MF 1100 gear shifting problems

I have a Massey Ferguson 1100 with the gear shifting done on the dash. I have had lots of issues with shifting gears. It seems like one day it won't go into one gear or come out of another. It's like those rods are completely out of adjustment. I have tried to adjust them but couldn't seem to get it right. I did straighten a couple out but still didn't help much. Any idea how to fix this gear problem?

Does your 1100 have multi-power? If so...it will be very hard to shift if it is in high MP range. shift mp to low.

Yes it does have multi power and I should have mentioned that I always shift gears when multi power is in low range. This has to do with the gear mechanism adjustments I think.

The only other problem I have had with my 1100 one time, was the high low range shifter, would slip out of high once in a while. Found out that mice had built a nest under the one linkage, and wouldnt let the shifter go all the way into gear. If you were into the linkages...I am sure you would have noticed that.

Another small problem with the shifting lever is after several years of use debris can get down below the shifting rods and interferes with the shifting. Mine was a mess and cleaning and greasing it made a huge difference!

Hi I had an 1135 here was doing something similar, Are the holes in the rod clevises, shift arms and are the pins worn. Mine had a bit of wear in the holes and I found the pins had worn grooved spots on them to . you could adjust it get it right then while it was running the pin would spin in the holes to a different spot with vibration.

Then it would throw everything out of adjustment again as it changed the rod/selector arm travel length to the selectors . I put new pins in the rods , I seem to remember It was pretty sensitive to adjust it right still. There wasn't much between it was right or wrong and didn't work properly, but it stayed right when it was finally set with the new pins.
