Massey Harris I-162 Box Scraper Help

I have a Massey Harris I-162 and I am attempting to figure out how I can hook up a box scraper to her. Seeing as there is not a whole lot of information on the I-162, I am of course having issues finding any comparisons. I know the I-162 is based on the model 30 which after looking at the manual, the only differences I am seeing is that the engine in mine has a mag instead of a distributor, and there is no hydraulics.

I purchased an MH30 hydraulic lift cylinder on eBay which should mount to the transmission case with no problems and I am planning on purchasing a PTO driven hydraulic pump to power it. Aside from that, I am not sure how the hydraulic lift cylinder will hook up to the top of the box scraper - I am assuming there will be some sort of additional mounting bracket needed for the top, but I am not sure where to even start looking, even if just for an image as then I can just fabricate something if needed. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

If that is a true I-162 then you have a very rare machine indeed! I would not mess with it honestly. Put it back into it's olive drab regalia and hit the show circuit!
Sure you don't have an MH-44 instead? Believe that was the civilian version of that model. Could be wrong though...

Attached is the photo of the serial plate showing the model.

I am trying to find anyone else who has any of these tractors still in existence. I read an article that a gentleman named Butch Simmons has one restored, but I have no way to get in contact with him. Unfortunately, there is just zero information online regarding these tractors.

The I-162 is a M-H 30, and since you have 1 of the 26 built you won't find much info on it. If I had it I wouldn't change, or modify it, I would get a another tractor that came with 3 point, and hydraulics.

I can't find the contact information for Butch. I should have it, as I bought a 333 from him and got to see his I 162. Don't know if he still has it as he sold a lot of his tractors. You can try Gary Emsweller. He has one and should had Butch's contact information.

Hi Brian,

I agree with EVERYTHING that has been said on this thread!! You have serial number G1SF-1012 which is the 12th one built. Mine is number 20.
