Update 175 UK power steering cylinder

Well, received new cylinder today. Ordered 2 #4 BSPP banjo bolts and fittings to adapt bango bolt to JIC. The ports are not BSPP as listed by vendor or my bolts are not BSPP. Either way the bolts are the correct diameter but different thread to screw into the cylinder. Hopefully David P. or someone can tell me exactly what threads these ports are on a 175 UK power steering cylinder. Pt Farmer is correct that there are listings that state the bolts are 1/2" jic but I can not find 1/2" jic bolts anywhere on the net much less 1/2" jic banjo bolts. This is getting frustrating. Bolts from Agco are $22.00 a piece and I hate to order them and they be wrong as well. Cylinder came from All State Ag Parts which state this cylinder can be used with BSPP adapters but that is not working. Any help is appreciated

If there is a hydraulic supply/shop near you I'd take to them so they can try different fittings to see which fittings it takes. Some of the really good hydraulic guys can just look at it, and tell you what fittings you need.

Finally discovered proper thread in this cylinder. It is 1/2"unf same as 1/2" fine thread bolt. I made banjo bolts by cross drilling bolts. Wish I had known this earlier! Anyway I will keep you guys informed how this conversion works out. These UK cylinders are reasonably priced and actually are a better design in my opinion (no cross over tube to leak). Will find out later today how well it fits mechanically. According to All State Ag Parts sales literature it will fit but they also stated the ports need BSPP to fit North American 175. That is not true. You will need 1/2"UNF banjo bolt and banjo adapter. We are using a banjo to JIC adapter and making new hoses with JIC fittings.

Joint Industry Council
JIC fittings, defined by the SAE J514 and
MIL-F-18866 standards, are a type of flare
fitting machined with a 37-degree flare
seating surface. JIC (Joint Industry
Council) fittings are widely used in fuel
delivery and fluid power applications,
especially where high pressure (up to 10,000
psi) is involved.

Why that banjo? Maybe you could swing JIC coupler straight to cylinder threads. I don't know if that kind of adapter is available on 1/2 UNF as is there on the picture, 3/4" UNF thread mentioned beside it. Language is wrong, I know:

I just added the "Google Translater" to my Firefox and it works great. That entire page appears in English.
