Need a solenoid or maybe complete starter for imt539, suppose to be a clone of mf35 diesel. There are no MF dealers around here anymore where I can compare the starters. Does anyone know where to get imt parts or if the starters will interchange

Hi,
Clone questionable? I believe that you will find that the IMT uses metric threads whereas the 35 etc will use unc and unf. There may also be discrepancies between the metric and imperial component sizes.

A couple of years ago I found a TAFE 35DI in a junk yard, it had a good steering box so I took it off, and put it in the barn. Yesterday I put it on my 135, the only problems I had was the nut that holds the steering wheel on was metric (that was missing when I got it off the tractor). The other problem which wasn't a problem for me it that the steering column is longer, which moved the steering wheel up higher, and back some. The short steering columns on the 135's make them uncomfortable for me since I have long legs. I have to move the seat up, and back as far as it could go so which made me have to reach the steering wheel a bit. The TAFE 35DI (made in India) is a "twin" to the MF 230-245.

Thanks for the info on Tafe, I also inherited a Tafe 25di from my brothers estate this year, I was told they were MF clones, but
can't cross it to any MF's models. The imt539 diesel sets beside my mf35 gas tractor and looks like a identical twin.
