New Aux Hydraulic Pump Tight

I just received the new auxiliary hydraulic pump that I ordered for my 175. Before installing it I put the drive gear on the splined shaft and tried to turn it. It was so tight that I could barely turn it by hand. Unless there is something I'm not aware of it feels likes there is not enough clearance inside of it and it could tear itself up pretty quick if run that way. Is there a chance that these pumps are built tight and wear in and loosen up or will it just gall the housing and destroy itself?
Thanks

I just put one in my 180 and it was very tight as well with just the gear on it (I had the same concern as you). Called Worthington Ag where I bought it and they claimed it would be tight. Once on the holder, in the tractor and the transmission back on I can spin it easy with transmission on (grabbing and spinning the input shaft) (motor is out too). So all in all I'd say spin it with the transmission on and you'll probably find that it will be easy.

Thanks Fellers! I appreciate the input. Maybe they build them slightly tight so the ends of the gears seal good?
