So i just bought this tractor i have drove
it around a little and i want to go through
it and make sure everything is good to go. I
dont want to end up letring something go
bad. Im trying to learn as much about it as
i can. So here are my questions. Some may be
kind of stupid.
1.Where is the oil filter for the engine oil
and what weight do i use. Its a gas engine.
2.what is the dipstick in the very front of
the tractor on the hood for. It looks like
it would be for the coolant but it seems
like whats on the stick is oily.
3. Where do i fill the engine oil.
4.is there a hydrolic oil resivor for the
loader and where do i drain/fill it.
5. How do i stop the leak from the back ram
of the dydrolic controller.. its the one
that pushes out when i move the lever for
the loader.

Oil filter is in the canister on the rear upper left of the engine, use a good Multigrade 10-30 oil if using it light or moderate work. The dipstick up front is for the hydraulic oil level and it fits into the reservoir there, in front of the rad.Engine oil is added via the cap on the front mid left side of the engine. See if you can get an owners manual , sometimes on ebay, for most operating and maintenance schedules. Sounds like the control valve may need new seals. Ben

Thank you so much.. i just pulled the bottom of the air filter canister off and it was full of oily water.. im guessing thats not normal.. i am wondering if i am able to pull the filter out from the canister or does that whole thing have to come off. It seems like its stuck or it stays..

No filter in it. Just clean the bottom cup, fill to level with clean oil. Blow some air down the intake pipe before you put the bottom cup on just in case there is something clogging it. This era tractor have oil bath air cleaners, no replaceable filters. We all want you to enjoy that Massey, and we will answer any question, no matter how basic. Ben
