Cleaned the carb, went through the wiring enough to get it turning over, no spark. Went through and replaced points, condensor and coil. Hooked up "umbilical" fuel tank. After a few tries it fired a bit. Took off dist. cap and cleaned contacts. Put back together and viola!! Video to follow.
Sure does have a scary high reach!

It seems to. I have to get a front wheel spindle to give it a good test but I was able to make it move in both directions as much as my blocking would allow.

I also have to go through the linkages from the pedal. Doesn't seem as though the throttle is working properly although when activated by hand at the governor lever, it is governing properly and runs smooooooooth!
There's quite a bit of throttle and shift linkage involved in making this thing work backwards. I think it'll just require some straightening and lubrication and that should help.

Yeah even a professional cobble job can bind up etc. Maybe just penetrating oil. Yep. a Tote pallet, long extension cord, put an electric coffee warmer and a microwave up there with ya, make going up a pole into a cushy job.. so? 20 feet? Too bad about the damage, but you got your money's worth...

I should say I got my money's worth.......wait, I haven't told anyone what I paid for it yet.
:)

The guy that squished the rollover cage told me you gave the boss 50 bucks and an 18 pack of Molson ice.... that in itself is precious..

It was a wee bit more than that....I think YOU overpaid him for the information.
