Need schooling in safety shut off switch, wires one way kills
engine when I shift tractor into High or Low gear, reverse
wires same thing.

You have left out the most important info is you want us the help you help your self. We need to know what model it is and if it is gas or diesel. The fix on one will not be the same on another

The safety switch is a basic open and closed switch. Which direction the wires are plugged in won't matter. It should be wired in the starter circuit and only have any effect when trying to crank it.
