relief valve back up solution

I just had a relief valve hang up on a TO 35 and crack a top cover after replacing it 10 to 15 years ago when one also hung up back then and broke a cover. I was thinking about adding an extra external
back up relief valve. Anyone have any opinions about this as a back up solution.

Interesting:

My neighbour had extended FORKS on his Ferguson and would lift Large Round bales of hay. Wellll, with a bale on the 3 point forks he crossed a ditch in 1 St gear 3/4 throttle, destroyed the TOP cover of the 3 point.

It sounds like it might have been mechanical failure due to the leverage from an extended load combined with the added impact from jumping the ditch. Mine was from within the hydraulics. There was only a scraper lifted on the back and I was backing up slowly with the tractor at idle when I heard the engine lug down just before the cover blew apart. I assume the relief valve hung up again. I definitely have the control arm stop hard set as to NOT over lift beyond the maximum range allowed. Sorry about your neighbors bad luck.
