Hello Gentlemen I have a Massey Ferguson 180 that I have been restoring for the past few months. If I recall correctly the year is a 1971? Ill have to double check the serial number.
I have rebuilt the Perkins diesel engine 236, new sleeves; head ect.. I am now going through the transmission which has very little wear.
My question is with the differential. I have a tapered bearing cup for the right axel that has some small scuffing. It's the large one on the actual differential. I do not wish to check the pre-load on the pinion for this tractor.
The ground speed PTO gear had a few broken teeth which I believe has gotten between the rollers and the cup.
I'm wondering if I should replace this? I can buy one set for around 170$
The rollers look fine but just light scuffing in the cone, Im afraid if I replace this then the pre-load will have to be done again, I do not whish to bring this to the dealer.
Part#
195159M1 ; 1 Cone, Bearing (2-5/8" I.D. X 1-3/16")
Thanks!
