mf135 lift cover adjustment

Hello, new to this, but have read alot of helpful information on here to help me
through the rebuild of my lift cover and pump. The question I have is after I make
the adjustments on the position control and the draft control and remove
adjustment wedge the dashpot rod goes in from pressure of the verticle rod a
little, is this supposed to happen? Thanks for any comments!

It's awful delicate and confusing in there... so my thought would be between- 'maybe' to 'I think so'. If it all goes together and operates as it should... don't mess with it. An adjustment of the quadrant is kinda rare, unless it got forced or bent up or something. But if it needs it, go by the book- and clean any paint and rust off the stampings, it all means -actually more than what's printed, certain positions for what ever you expect it to do. I wished I video-taped our teacher in Republic last summer....

There were a lot of changes in hitch covers and linkage systems during the 100 series production runs. Good manuals are a must. If you can verify your hitch cover casting number or stamped number you are way ahead. Make sure your service manual is 100 percent accurate to what you have in front of you. If not do not just wing it. Massey used the same components in different AG models as well as Industrials. MF40,135,165

The reason I say this is the tractor I bought had been subjected to folks working on it without knowledge. 6 months, a lot of hours doing research, and a much higher parts bill than I anticipated I am almost done. Most of the parts I had to replace were damaged from someone trying to repair it or adjust it with the wrong data.

I have both manuals IT and shop manual just to compare but use the shop manual. My adjustment specs. are .000-.002 on both draft control rod and position control rod with levers in correct position, mf970 tool in place, dashpot wedge in and 3 lbs pull on verticle lever. When I release the pull and take the dashpot wedge out the dashpot rod moves in. Is this what is supposed to happen? I will try to send video, thanks
