MF-202 runs poorly

I have owned this MF-202 for 15 years. It has run well for most of the time. it quit running and I decided to tune it up. I replaced the
coil, plug wires, distributor cap, points, rotor, and had the carborator rebuilt. I also replaced the filter in the bowl. It ran well for several weeks then stopped. I noticed I wasn't getting fire and after checking the points, noticed they were burned and the plastic on the points was melted. I replaced the points and the same thing happened. I checked with theM!assey dealer who ordered the points from MF. The points were much more solid. After replacing them the tractor ran fine for the day. When I started it the next day it would run,but just barely. FYI After the points burned the second time I installed a resistor in-line from the coil to the destributor. When it starts it acts like it is not getting gas, but I have checked the line from the tank to the carborator with no blockage. I am also getting plenty of fire. Any suggestions? Do I need a bigger hammer?

Classic condensor failure Oklahoma , plenty of them are duds straight out of the box . A new old stock one would be ideal if you can find one , or at a pinch one made in Italy rather than China . I had three duds in a row at one stage , points burnt to a crisp !

I have experienced the same problem with condensers that are duds right out of the box.
