230 Power steering cylinder

Ball joints on each end are shot. I have the older type where both ends are fixed. I wish to cut the ends off and affix new ends to my cylinder. Does anyone know if part 1050038M91 will fit, in terms of taper, to the bell crank and the anchor point? If so, I could just buy two of those ends and weld them in place. I see a new cylinder is $550 and I don't want to go that route. I'm about to buy a 1050038M1 just to see but wondered if anyone else has been confronted by this problem.

Hi Curt,I have the same problem on my 230,but only the front one,the one in back is good, have been looking at them like you but have not tried one yet!Thinking may be able to take it to machine shop to have end threaded for the right end after cutting the old end off,if that wont work we may have to bite the bullet and get a new one!If that work's for you could you please reply back on here and let me know.Appreciate it.
