MarkIII Pump chamber specifications

Hi,
I have never seen any wear spec for the pump chamber in any MF manual. The guide has always been if you can 'feel' wear replace it! The only other thing is to try a new ring in the worn and unworn area. If you can see a significant ring gap in the worn area then its time to replace it.

Thx for your response. Best data I found was .988 for new. no tolerances given. Unfortunately after I finished disassembly I found there was not 1 intact piston ring. In fact the biggest piece was about 2mm long. Results all pistons are out of round and all bores are scored. And the spool had been installed backwards. So it looks like time to buy more parts. :/

Actually the cost for new spool and overhaul kit came up to about $250. Much cheaper than what I have seen for rebuilds or new. Plus this is a early non-typical MKIII in a late non-typical MF40. A MF40 service manual has a few pictures of this version but no service instructions. I had to buy a 40B manual to figure this one out. Just a note for all you MF Industrial owners: After speaking with the tech service dept. at AGCO I was told they never bought the Industrial side. That was bought by New Holland. New Holland doesn't support this model. go figure, black hole once again. :) I do really appreciate all your guys input.
