TO 35 Clutch

I bought a 1956 model 6 weeks ago. The
clutch is randomly intermittent. Sometimes
it works sometimes it doesn't. Once it
starts working it seems to keep working for
the duration of the ride, or at least for a
while. Tried adjusting the pedal. Didn't
help. Am I facing clutch replacement or do
you have any other inputs or thoughts?

Can you clarify what "The clutch is randomly intermittent. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't"?

Is there anything dripping out the bottom of the clutch area?

Even if there isn't, remove the 4-bolt plate under the bellhousing/clutch. When I got my machine it didn't leak a drop of anything, but the moment I fired it up oil cam pouring out of a large hole up near the starter. i removed that plate and found that my bellhousing was full of engine oil. Now I just leave it partially unbolted so the oil can get out, at least until I replace the rear main seal.
