MF40 steering cylinders

I am curious if there are steering cylinders that are
interchangeable with the MF40. I am specifically looking for
the right side.

Thank you

(quoted from post at 10:07:48 03/22/17) For instance would the 40E cylinder work on a 40 Industrial?

No, the 40E cylinder won't work, the part number 519283M91 for the right hand side cylinder maybe superseded by a different part number. You would have to contact a dealer on that, try http://www.gbdorning.com/

Check with reliable aftermarket parts in Williamston,mi. I had to replace the ones on a 40b and they had some that were much cheaper than a dealer. I've learned it's easiest to have a part number when you call.

What's wrong with the cylinder you have now? Most parts are available to rebuild the original cylinder. If you cross the part numbers sometimes you can find the same components were used on the 135, and 165 ag tractors. There are very good Sparex catalogues available online. It takes a little research but having both numbers has helped me get parts some folks will tell you are unavailable.

steering cylinders are different on the ag models. my mistake. I will however look into it some more later today after work.

The cylinder has a blown seal due to the rod assembly having vice clamp marks on the shaft. Hydraulic shop said they can try to sand it down but with no guarantee. I called Glenn B. Dorning, Inc. and they quoted me $500 for a used one. If the cylinder still fails I will look to see if I can find replacement parts. I am having difficulty finding the assembly rod for that cylinder. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you

You can go to TractorHouse and do a parts search with the part number. If there is no part available you can post a want add there, I've found a couple of parts that way (its worth a shot).

Sorry scratch the last. Have you asked for a quote from external_link.com? They show a used complete cylinder in stock.

The rod will have the piston on it.

No, I went back through the Aftermarket list and it was an incorrect number. I show no direct cross under Sparexusa. Is the damage limited to the last couple of inches next to the tierod end?

No luck on AI site. just cylinder repack kits. You may be able to get some info from AGCO but you will have to exhaust the options using your local dealer first. When they finally tell you they can't help, have the name of the dealer and call AGCO direct. That is what I had to do to track down superceded numbers.
