135 trivia question

Greetings, just posting a question to the MF experts here, was wondering why many,perhaps all I don't know, 135s have Tachs that spin counterclockwise. I used to have a 135D and did not like that Tach orientation after mowing hay all day on my 165D with Tach clockwise and hopping on the 135 to rake. All the other 165s and 200 models in my area and my 265 have clockwise Tachs. Just curious, here on a rainy morning... Cheers

Mine spins clockwise too here stateside. I have seen one or two UK versions that have the counter clock spin though.

Depends on the engine. Continentals and perkins tachs spin opposite directions. I have one of each and I think the continental is clockwise
and the perkins is counter clockwise.

In that other thread rbhuntn started is pictures of 135 with Perkins and counterclockwise meter. Mine is with Perkins and clockwise meter.

My 135 with the Perkins diesel the tach runs ccw, my MF2135 industrial (same as a 135) with the Continental Z134 gas engine the tach runs cw.
