I have a Massey Ferguson 150 Diesel and I took the power steering cylinder off because it is leaking really bad everything went well until I tried to take the pivot pin out on the one end finally ended up taking the whole piece off along with the cylinder how do you get the pin out tapped on it but it did not move and I do not want to damage anything so I thought I would ask.

Can you press it out from the bottom?

I am not sure the way it looks it should be forced down but I used a big hammer and punch but it didn't do anything I hit it from the other side with same result.

It's a pin that's 9/16" in diameter x 2 1/4" long, it is not stepped, or tapered (my shop manual says down). On my brothers 150 we heated it up, and used a press, didn't want the chance to possibly mushroom the pin by using a hammer, and a punch. That pin can get really stuck good in there.

(quoted from post at 11:08:34 03/03/17) I managed to get the pin out Thank You guys
for your help.

You might have at least told us how you did it.

Press ?

Big hammer?

Answers like that may be of help to the next guy. That's why I visit this forum every day, to pick up useful information.

Put in outside in the cold for 2 hours then used a small 2 ton press at the neighbors place and it came right out.

Thank you, glad you got it out.
