Running tractor without Hydraulic lift

Hello, I am in the process of rebuilding my Hydraulic lift cover
and I want to put my tractor on a trailer to take to the shop. I
am curious if I can drive my tractor onto my trailer with the
hydraulic cover off if there is plenty of hydraulic fluid in the
tractor?

Thank you

Technically i don't see why not. You would have to figure out how to keep the pump lever forward so you don't turn it into a bidet and get big surprise.

While I've never had to do it I would think you would need to rig something to hold the control lever on the pump all the way forward. Since you removed the lift cylinder from the top cover, apart with the linkage that works the control lever you could put the top cover on with a couple of bolts. Then you could just leave the stand pipe out (but put the little 2 bolt top plate on). That is the way I move this one around with the busted lift cover.

Hi, you've hit the nail right on the head there.....more of a fountain perhaps!!!!!! Whatever cover is used it will
have to seal very well as oil will get thrown around from the shafts and gears.

Worth it?

(quoted from post at 21:05:28 02/27/17) What pump lever you referring to?

The lever on the right by the open hole when looking down inside. The one you had to take the roller off of to lift the cover off.

Unfortunately the draft response control plate had a frozen
flathead bolt and I was unable to move the plate. However, I
was able to remove the lift cover by removing the hydraulic lift
cylinder bolts and work around the draft response control arm.
I found a small roller like piece in the bottom of the hydraulic
pump housing along with the link assembly springs. I am
trying to find a picture where the roller would go. I wish I had
a good look at what everything looked like from the side of the
draft response hole. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you

if you look in the side cover you had removed you'll see two sheet metal fingers. The roller goes between those in the holes. The one item that needed to be removed before pulling the cover. At this point make sure the roller still has both pins and the arm isn't all bent up.
A manual is a must have for this kind of work.. Just sayin...

I am needing to move some dirt around this weekend and I
want to know if it is possible to install the hydraulic lift cover
without the hydraulic lift cylinder to disable it the TPH since I
don't need it in the immediate future? If, so how would I do it?

Thank you for all your help!

Well if you put the cover back on without installing the stand pipe it "should" work. Just need to plug up the four stud holes where the cylinder goes and put the cap back on. If you drained the oil out make sure to put it back in since everything is still turning inside.

Out of curiosity what dirt work do you plan on doing without the 3 point?

Ok thanks, my tractor has a front end loader so I was
planning on fixing a dirt driveway and moving some loose dirt
and brush.

Does the loader use an independent pump or the internal one? If it uses the internal one then i wouldn't do it honestly..

Not sure... looks like there is a pump in the front of the tractor.
Here is a diagram. Thoughts?

Thank you for your patience and help!

You should post this pic when folks have questions about rebuilding hitch covers or adjusting without following the manual and checking pressures. By the way I have ran my tractor several times without the hitch cover. Just put PTO lever in neutral if equipped.
