ok now that I know I need to rebuild this motor I need to know what it is to order parts. There is no serial # that I can find the tag is not on the dash. the man I bought it from says its a1951, the tag on the valve cover says its a standard motor co. diesel /Ricardo engineers 1927 motor isee in looking up in 1951 standard made its first diesel motor for the TE 20 But I also see the motor in the MF35 which I see the MF 35 on the tack gauge .so can any one tell me what I have or what to look for next Thanks!!

The engine number for a Standard Motors diesel is tucked in somewhere behind the generator .

The MF 35 has a high / low range gear box and starts off the key , it uses the Standard Motors 23C diesel engine .
The TED20 uses the 20C diesel , has a single range gear box and starts off the start position vis the gear shift stick .
The engine number is essential for ordering parts .
