Hey guys, rebuiding my z145 and got 3 questions.

1) The rod and main bearings have a manufacturers mark of MN. Can't seem to figure out what brand this is. Part numbers of 1750234M1 and 1751430M1 are the only marks on the bearings themselves. No size indicator at all. Believe these to be .010 overs based on measurements but would like confirmation. Never ran into a bearing that did not have size stamped on them, even factory ones..

2) The rear main has this string that needs to be packed in for the side seals. Is there any particular sealer that should be dripped in there as its packed down? The classic permatex brown gasket maker?

3) When i pulled the govener off one of the bearings fell out. Can i just crimp the cage a hair to hold it in or should i replace the govener?

Replace Governor in its entirety:

How many HRS. on the Engine?

How many HRS. on engine since you purchased?

Note info as to how oil is supplied to governor assembly:

Meter shows 3400 hours. Someone has been in there before and turned the crank to what appears to be 10/10. Based on the smoothness of the journals i dont think i has that many hours. Someone just did a bad job and its leaking from just about every gasket and burning oil in all 4 cylinders. So i am going through it myself. Did measure the back lash on the front gears before tearing it down and they were all within spec. Will replace the cam as the rear lobe is wearing down.
Mostly concerned around the bearing sizes. Just strange there is no size markings on them.

So got to the timing cover today and scraped off the two inches of oil and dirt that was caked on the front. Think i found out why the governor went bad. The timing cover took a big hit at some point right between the adjusting screw and shaft. Cracked it all the way through and the aluminum is bent in far enough to cause someone to back the adjusting screw all the way out.
Odd thing is the governor was working ok.. Just leaking lots of oil.

If the metal balls in the governor can fall out of the sheet metal cage you may want to replace that to. The sheet metal cage will wear, break, and all the metal balls will be in the oil pan (had that happen to me).

Yup replacing the whole assembly. I am here and don't need that chance. Can't seem to figure out how that cover took a hit like that considering everything that is in front of it. I know the front of the tractor took a hit at one point. The sheet metal is welded up and sort of straightened. However all the pieces are welded together as none of the bolt holes line up anymore. Wonder if it was speared by something that ended up in the timing cover..
