lift arms drop question

MF 35 question - Is it normal for the lift arms to drop slowly all the way down over a period of time after turning the tractor off even without a load left on the hitch?

The MF 35 we bought last summer lifts with no issue and holds position with a load when the tractor is running. But if we leave the arms up with or without a load attached we notice the next morning the lift arms have dropped down to the lowest position. Even without a load.

If not normal what is the fix? Lift cylinder rings??????

Thanks

Scott

That's pretty normal with the piston ring type seal the lift cylinder uses. If the lift arms drop soon after you cut the engine off then you got problems.

X2.. As long as when you start the tractor up the arms go back to where they were you are fine.
I recently did the cylinder and piston in my 135. Wouldn't hold for 5 mins after turning the engine off and rained oil inside while it was running. Put one of the mono seal type pistons in there and it held the blade off the ground for 3 weeks before it started to settle.

Yes, perfectly normal for older MFs 3 pt
arms to slowly drop after shut off. If it
holds weight in operation and not dropping
fast at shutoff, do not worry at all.
