Dual clutch affecting PTO?

Hello
I was given an MF 202 Work Bull. Previous owner said the rear lift and PTO did not work. Was told it drove fine, but didn't run well. Has been sitting for several years. I have the motor out of it for an overhaul, (Bad head gasket) but before I commence I thought I'd see why things in the rear-end didn't work. The pump is shot as there are springs laying in the bottom of the housing, but the PTO does turn when I turn the input by hand. The PTO lever does engage and disengage fine. I have the 6 speed, dual-clutch transmission removed and everything seems to work fine to the back end, when I turn just the input side of the smaller drive shaft and the larger PTO shaft. My thought is that if all things turn and are hooked together, the PTO should work, right? That led me farther forward to the dual clutch. I haven't taken that off the engine, yet. I've no experience with a dual clutch, but could it be out of adjustment/worn out for the smaller PTO disc and still be working for the main clutch? Are there separate adjustments for each clutch? My manuals show disassembly and reassembly but stop by saying the clutch is now ready for adjustment. I'm going to replace the clutch anyway, but was wanting thoughts/advice as to why the PTO wouldn't work. Am I missing something? Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

If it's the same dual clutch as the 35 the PTO clutch needs adjustment from time to time . This is done from under the bell housing through the belly plate . Each little jack bolt on the clutch needs adjusting till clearance is the thickness of a hacksaw blade . The heads are soft so be careful not to round them off .

The pto clutch could be out of adjustment, worn out, or broken clutch disk. I would get a clutch kit that comes with everything you need (even has the line up tool for the clutch disks). Don't take the clutch off of the flywheel before installing three 1/4" bolts in the pressure plate so the clutch doesn't come apart, and very possibly send clutch parts flying.

Do all the 202's have the dual clutch?

No, it will have a single clutch on ones that didn't come equipped with a pto.

Thanks, everyone for the info. Mine was way out of adjustment. The disks are pretty thin, not down to the rivets, yet, but getting close. It will all be replaced if I proceed with this thing. I have another question to post so any more help would be great.
Thanks, again
