I looked at a MH 44 yesterday that a gentleman is giving to our Edge. Branch 9 tractor club. We will restore it and raffle it off next June (2018).
He is also giving us a nice 3 bottom MH plow. The tractor should run with a little bit of work. We're in Oregon and this tractor came from Kansas
16 years ago. One tire is bad but he gave us another tire. 14.9 x38. Both rims are rusted around the valve stems. Hopefully these can be
repaired. Dick

That is about the most complete 44 I have seen, cast wheels with weights, 3 pt and live PTO.

Is it a late 44 or 44 special, I could not tell from the pictures, could not see the area under seat?

Definitely a Special, cast wheel centers front and rear, left side frame step, heavy lift cylinder with control quadrant, larger clutch and brake pedal pads, rear fuel tank fill, friction throttle..

So the cast wheels, disk brakes and hand clutch were options on 44, standard on special.

I could not see the quadrant lever, was 3 pt an option on 44?

Never knew about front step or back fill on fuel tank.

Thanks

I have one of those late 44's with the hand clutch and cast wheels on the rear and the 260 engine I believe the 44 special had the 277 didn't it

The LPTO was an option on the Specials too, dad has a 44D Special without it, and has the Bendix shoe brakes. My 33D has the LPTO, wide front, three point options. 333 and 444 models could be had with or without the LPTO also, but most had it.
