175 Diesel Hydraulics

I would like to upgrade the hydraulics on my Massey 175 diesel to run the Massey 236 loader faster than the stock pumps. I would like to mount a pump on the front to drive off the crank. The stock pumps are around 12.8 GPM when combined but I'm wanting a little more flow than that. I'm looking at a 2.32 cu in gear pump which puts out 18.1 GPM @ 2000 RPM. Would this be a good match or should I look for a smaller pump? Looks like the lift cylinders on the loader are around 2-1/2"

What pressure and flow will you get from that pump at 1000 rpm? You will likely be running closer to 1000 that 2000 when using the loader(?, maybe).

I'd be tempted to go bigger, not smaller.

If you get an auxiliary pump mounted on front of that 175 let us know how you did it. I use our 175's on mounted fork lifts and would like to have a bigger pump mounted on front too.

Good Day,
JP.
