mf 65 water in hydraulics

I replaced the oil in my hydraulics last winter. I replaced the pump as it was shot from so much water in it when I bought it. The shifter boots were cracked so I replaced them as I figured that was where the water was coming from. I didn't realize there was a seal on the spring on the top link. Can this be replaced without pulling the top cover or do I need to remove it to put the seal in? Thanks in advance for your help.

The draft spring assembly comes out the back. There is a big nut, and set screw, that screws into the top cover that holds it in place. Biggest question will be if you can get the plunger unscrewed from the clevis. I had to cut mine when i did it. New plunger and spring wasn't bad cost wise. There is a bunch of posts on replacing and adjusting these. Cruise the archives or even google it and you'll come across them. Also look for your vent on top of the top cover and see if it still has its shroud. Water will get in there too if its missing. Check your fill plug for a gasket or o-ring as water can work its way in there as well.
My 135 had the same problems when i got it. It had a couple gallons of water in the sump that destroyed the pump.

There are also supposed to be large o-rings on the lift arms' splined cross shaft, so that's another place water can work it's way in.
