135 diesel won't start

Finished the 135 with 3 cyl Perkins overhaul and tried to start it yesterday. Fuel tank did not have a shutoff so I added a new shutoff valve. Put 5 gal in tank, figured that's enough to start it. Got fuel to the lift pump and finally to the fuel filter. Started to see some at the injectors. Cranked it over and it wanted to star but only ran for half a min. I'm not sure the little lift pump is working. I pulled it down the road to try and. Get it started but it never fired. Took the little pump off and took it apart. It had some junk in it so ai cleaned it up and put it back together. Had trouble with the fuel lines going into the pump and the inlet fitting broke on me. I ordered a new pump so now I will have to wait a few days. Dick

Sounds like you have a problem with the lift pump, if something glogging the lines. With a good lift pump, fuel should be literally shooting feets away from the bleedscrews.

Did you bleed the fuel delivery system from the tank to the filter to the lift pump to the injector pump to the injectors?

Theres a bleed screw by the name plate on the inj. pump..
Double screw, loosen the 5/16" screw and bleed out the air, either w/ hand primer or spin the engine over.. close it.
Loosen ALL the lines AT THE INJECTORS or as many as you can get to.
Spin the engine until fuel squirts out and tighten. Off you go.

As I re-read this again- I am thinking of the Iseki in my ol Bolens. The shut off shuts off yeah, but it is only wide open when the lever is ..3/4's the way to butting up to the casting. I would tear that thing apart and look in the channels before I tore into the injector pump or some other can of worms...
