Massey 65 Diesel block casting numbers

I am looking for a block for a 65 Massey engine serial # 2815087, 1961 year...casting number is a C or a O 280095J I found two blocks with suffix letters of V and X. Are they the same? Date code? Deal breaker ? There are 3 blocks that I know of in the production run . It is a Perkins 203.

Either on the back of the block right below the cylinder head, or on the right hand side of block by the lift pump there should a surface that is machined flat. It should have a 7 digit serial number stamped in it, it should be something like 2939036, or 29D2381 for example. That is what you need.

Early 65 used the Perkins Regular diesel, A4.203 with two hole indirect injectors and flat top pistons. Later used the direct injected AD4.203 that used four hole angled injectors that sprayed into bowl type pistons. Makes a huge parts difference.
