Need help identifying MF

Hello, I am new to the tractor world and I am in need of
assistance in identifying my MF I just bought. It needs a few
parts to get going and wanted to buy the appropriate manuals.
Any help would be much appreciated. In looking at several
sites, I am guessing it may be a MF 40 Industrial. Has serial
on side of tractor 9A T48523 and MF 34 L81107607 on the
Loader.

Thank you!

Ok, I have attached pics of serial plates and picture of tractor. Does your book identify my tractor as a MF40 industrial or something else? I need to either fix the steering pump with a seal kit or buy a new one. Do you know which manual I need to buy? Thank you!

The Massey Legacy volume two by John Farnworth lists the "A" line tractors like this, AG line 135, 150, 165, 180, 230, 245, 255, 265, 275, and 285 Industrial models in the same SN group are MF20, 30, 31, 40, 50, 302, 304, 356, 2135, 2200, 2500, and 3165. Covers years 1967 through 1980. Need to know what size Perkins engine it has, some tractor service manuals may cover the model you have. May be cheaper to replace the pump instead of trying to repair it.

Trying to post pictures..

So, I need to purchase the book you mentioned to find out my specific model? I know the engine is diesel...

Jaypat88 I see you are having trouble posting pics
I included a link about posting them
if you scroll down it a cple posters you'll come to a post by James Howel that will give you step by step instuctions
it explains it for classic view but the procedure is the same in both modern n classic view

There's plenty of good help here, let us know what engine you have in it. Most likely Perkins AD3.152, AD4.203, or AD4.236. The MF 40 forklift I had was the Perkins gas AG3.152..

I remember the guy I bought it from said it was a 203. He recently rebuilt the engine. He said it was 40hp. My tractor is an hr away and I can't look at it until the weekend. Where would I look to identify the engine size?

I have pictures but don't know how to post them. I can email pics to you that could help me order the steering pump today so I can fix it this weekend.

Thank you!
Jay

Can anyone tell me what model of tractor this is from the pics?

I also want to know which manuals to buy to learn how to operate and repair.

Thank you

(quoted from post at 15:13:55 01/23/17) By the PS steering pump photo you have the three cylinder engine.

Yeah, in the link that I posted above it shows the 203 with only the perkins 3 cylinder diesel. I guess thay didn't make the 203 with a gas engine. It also shows years 61 to 67.

So, the previous owner who rebuilt the engine didn't know what the tractor was? Sounds like this guy was a big BSer.

He was just going off the top of his head. He acquires
tractors every week. I just picked up the steering pump from
him that he had ordered previously before I bought it. He said
the tractor came with a engine rebuild kit that he had his
mechanic install just recently. Engine only has three hours on
it.
