Massey Harris Bronze

Hello All,
I am painting the bronze on my 333. I spent $80 and got a pint of Nason 5054A GM Saddle Bronze as I've seen on many sites as one of the paint codes.

It is the wrong colour.

I looked on good ole google images and some have this lighter colour, but mine is the darker colour.

My local paint shop sells S-W paint, does any one have the Sherwin Williams paint code for the darker bronze?

Thanks!
Tyler

The color on google images may look different because a lot of pictures aren't taken with the best cameras. Sunlight, shadows, or flash can change how a color looks. The best way is too see others in person in the same lighting conditions you are looking at your tractor in.

Thanks, But it is obviously wrong. I still have some parts that show the original colour and the Nason 5054A is considerably lighter.

Keep in mind too that paint will change color as it dries. Put a dab on something and see what it looks like once its completely dry.

Hopefully this one works..

Not sure if it helps ya or not but...
MH 333 & 444 Bronze 99L-5420 NAPA ( Martin Senour-Acrylic Enamel )
MH Triple Series Bronze 99L-23062-0 (Martin Senour - Acrylic Enamel)
fine grind metallic NAPA ( Martin Senour-Acrylic Enamel )
MH 333 & 444 Bronze-Centari Enamel (69 GM Saddle Metallic) 5054A Dupont

Thanks, But this is where I got the paint codes from. The last one (5054A) is the only one I could get a match too, and as you see it is not correct.

From AGCO's parts book for M-H models 333, and 444.
Part number 830695M1 Paint, Bronze (U.S. Gallon).
Part number 761525M1 Paint, Red, (U.S. Gallon).
Part number 761527M1 Paint, Yellow, (U.S. Gallon).

Looks good to me, why not just leave it as is? So what if it's a little light, I painted a 101 Junior years ago and it was a "little too
much of a dark red" but it looked good and I liked it. Sold it to a guy and he was happy too. The color police probably won't take you to
jail anyways. Years ago I read here on the YT site that the bronze triple engine color was a perfect match with a Mazda car color ..... I
have no idea what the Mazda color was of course.

I am no historian by any stretch of the imagination but didn't MH start out with a gold color like that and then switch to the darker color later as the gold wasn't popular? Wasn't the bronze mostly a european with a little sprinkled state side?
Could be way off but... I have seen tractors painted in that gold and they look nice. If you google massey harris gold paint and look at the images you'll see some nice examples of what it would look like finished.

Could try posting this over in the paint section. Maybe one of those guys has a better answer for ya. Just a thought...
