MF202 Hydraulic fill cover gasket

Can anyone give me the number of the cover plug gasket for adding hydraulic fluid? It's the threaded plug (cover) to the left of the two gear selectors.

I have the parts manual but it doesn't show that plug or the gasket. It has an exploded view of the gear shift levers and the linkage but does not show that filler plug on the cover.

Thank You

my 1968 parts catalog lists the plug as pn 768 300 m1, does not show or list a gasket. plug is listed under steering gear not transmission.

Thank you, yeah I finally found it. Strange that it's a metal to metal threaded plug and there is no gasket in there.

I guess I'll just pick up some gasket material next time I go to Napa and make one.

The filler plug on my 135 was like that. I fitted an o-ring in the empty space under threads at the base. Sealed up just fine.

Yeah, I thought of that also since that space between the threads and the cap is rounded like it is. I didn't think Napa would have an O ring that big, but I will check when I go there next time.

I have one of those Harbor Freight O ring sets but the biggest one I think is about 1 inch. My biggest concern is water getting in through there without some kind of gasket.

It will get in there for sure without something. I have had a couple snows now on mine without a cover and so far have not had any water get in there using the o-ring. I got my o-ring from o'reillys if that helps ya at all. Think it cost me all of 50 cents.

Thanks, I have an O'reillys a few blocks up from Napa.

I use a generous bead of silicone caulking.

It works - prevents water ingress, fills in any irregularities in the case or plug, and peels off easily when opened again.

I got an O ring from Napa. It fit very well and felt like it made a nice seal while tightening the cap. I placed a thin film of Vaseline on the case surface before tightening.
