AD3-152 question

I have the engine apart on my 135 diesel for a front crankshaft seal. I ordered parts from my MF dealer and was told I needed seal 1447 689M1 and also 745 057 M1 spacer. The parts book does not show this spacer and my engine did not have one. Do I need this? If so, does it go on the front or back of the oil slinger washer? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If the new spacer fits the crank and is only about a 1/4" wide and the same thickness,that replaces the large oil slinger.That new spacer has a smaller outside diameter to allow engine oil to reach the seal to cool and lubricate. Joe

JerseyJoe, Thank you for the reply. I will replace the oil slinger with the new spacer. The slinger measures 3.625 O.D. and the replacement measures 2.25 O.D. Again, thanks for your expertise.
